Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
The best place I have ever stayed has to of been Yellowstone national park. I actually camped in the park itself and knowing there may have bears, wolves and wildlife within meters of where I was sleeping was just an incredible experience therefore has to top any hotel I've ever been too.
What's your oddest travel moment?
My oddest travel moment has to be when I travelled to America for 2 months. I flew from London Heathrow with BA. I was flying by myself and joining a tour once I arrived. I was slightly nervous about flying alone and being away from home for the length of time. I’d booked a seat in economy and when I got to the check in desk I was told there weren’t any seats left in economy. My face must have said it all with the pure look of panic. The check-in staff soon found me a seat in premium economy and I was on my way. Just as I was boarding the plane I was called from the line to have my ticket ripped up and a new one issued. At this point I didn’t even look at my ticket I just wanted to get on the flight. When I got to the aircraft doors the airhostess advised I was in business class and I’d been given a free upgrade. It was a completely surreal moment and I made sure I made the most of it. Especially the lobster and champagne!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
The sunrise at Monument Valley has to be one of my perfect travel moments. I’d spent the evening dancing with the Navajo Indians and just being there and listening to their stories about each rock and its formation was an amazing experience let alone rising early the next morning to see the sun. I sat for ages just staring at the different colours that shone through the valley. Every time I think of it, it takes me back to that very moment and I can still feel how I felt then. This has to be my perfect travel moment and one I will never forget.
What are your suitcase essentials?
A good book! Nothing beats lying on a sun bed with the sun shining down on you, the sound of the sea in the back ground and reading a good book.
Where's next on your wishlist?
The world's such a big place and there’s so much more of it I’d like to see. Next on the forever changing wish list has to be Australia. The country has so much to offer including 100’s of iconic sights such as Sydney harbour, Ayres Rock, the Great Barrier Reef and so much more.
