Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It has to be Runaway Bay in Jamaica, I've never seen such a beautiful setting and had such a relaxing break. I remember sitting at the swing bar out on a jetty over the sea watching the sunset glisten on the water, it was truly amazing. The background music of Bob Marley and the smiles from the staff that were so happy to help just made for a perfect Caribbean holiday
What's your oddest travel moment?
When staying in Havana, in Cuba, my family and I ordered a local taxi to take us into Varadero. The taxi arrived... and instead of a normal cab that we expected, a giant pink 1950s Cadillac arrived! We were gob-smacked, but it was very comfortable and hugely spacious, even if it was over 50 years old! Very odd to us but the norm for Cuba!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I visited Kefalonia in Greece and my partner and I travelled up the slopes of Mount Ainos to watch the sunset. There is hardly any light pollution on the islands and we sat for hours looking out over the bay watching the hustle and bustle down below, the sun slowly set in the distance and the then hundreds of stars filled the dark sky, it was pretty spectacular and pretty perfect. A memory that will stay with me always
What are your suitcase essentials?
My lip balm never leaves my side, whatever the climate – be it skiing, trekking or relaxing it’s a must have. That and a lightweight scarf, they are so versatile either to keep me warm on a long flight, or to cover my head in the hot sun on a sandy beach.
Where's next on your wishlist?
Working in travel means I have a huge list of places to visit, it grows daily! Top of my list is to stay in a tree house at the Lion Sands, as part of a South African adventure. Being surrounded by the wildlife and having the privacy to be so close to nature would be an incredible experience. That or The Maldives – what person doesn’t want to sit, cocktail in hand outside their own private beach villa?
