Plan your perfect holiday with Vicky Fielding
"Vicky Fielding was very friendly, knowledgeable and not pushy at all. We went to Kuoni to consider options and not book a holiday there and then. We were going to come away and think about it but we were put at ease and got all the information we needed, so we booked there and then!"

Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It has to be Calabash Cove in St Lucia. It is a brand new Luxury Boutique hotel with only 26 suites in total. From the minute I stepped foot in the lobby, I was blown away by the panoramic views of tropical vegetation and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. The staff were amazing, and felt like family after a few days, where they knew each and every guest by their names. The food was lush, with my husband divulging in a huge steak every night as part of the all-inclusive. With premium branded spirits and Champagne included, we were in for an absolute treat!
What's your oddest travel moment?
Whilst I was in Northern Thailand, we decided to do a day trip to Laos. When we arrived, we were welcomed by smiling faces, lots of little children playing and plenty of shops selling many different items. Everything was so cheap here, and bartering was the way forward so my husband was in his element! As we walked around exploring, we came across a shop that sold snakes and lizards in a glass bottle of whiskey or vodka and I had never seen anything like it. We asked why, and they told us people believe drinking it gives them strength and virility. I walked away in complete shock.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
Yes, I was in Dubai and we were driving 4x4s through the desert. The sun was going down and we were in the middle of the dunes, hours from anywhere. We parked up at sunset and I walked to the top of a dune to just sit and watch the sun go down in a blazing orange haze. The stars in the sky that followed were astounding, splashed across the inky sky. We drove deeper in to the Bedouin Camp where we were greeted by belly dancers, shisha pipes and traditional Arabic music. We enjoyed a camel ride and took in the whole day as we sat down to eat local food from the barbeque.
What are your suitcase essentials?
My suitcase essentials are definitely my GHD hair straighteners, so I don't have a famous Monica from Friends moment, also Bach's Rescue Remedy for the flight as I am a nervous flyer and always feel that this and a couple of glasses of wine always put me at ease.
Where's next on your wishlist?
An African Safari, after a taster at Yala National Park in Sri Lanka. My dream is to be out in the Maasai Mara experiencing the true life of the Big Five.
