It was during this time that her life plans changed; that gap year turned into seven years working in the travel industry, travelling across five continents along the way.

Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
The most stunning place I have visited has to be the Maldives; I was fortunate to spend my Honeymoon at Velassaru Island where we experienced impeccable service, top quality food & drink and stayed in luxury accommodation. I have been really lucky to visit a number of islands in the Maldives and they are all stunning; a true picture postcard paradise.

What's your oddest travel moment?
I was on an excursion in Jamaica and we were on a minibus driving on the most narrow mountain roads. We approached a village, and the locals were walking around with their pet goats and machetes - another world entirely.

Have you had a perfect travel moment?
During a recent trip to New Zealand, we were fortunate enough to go Whale Watching in Kaikoura. Of course, seeing the whales was incredible, however the amazing scenery completely wowed me. Our backdrop was snow-capped glaciers, footed by lush green hills and topped by beautiful blue skies - truly breathtaking.

What are your suitcase essentials?
Mosquitos tend to find me irresistible, so Jungle Formula is a must have! I never travel anywhere without my Kindle too. Travel can be unpredictable, so it keeps me occupied in the case of any delays or long transfers!

Where's next on your wishlist?
As a big food & wine lover as well as enjoying previous safari trips the next destination on my wish-list is South Africa. This is a destination where I can combine both interests and passions.
