Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
One hotel that really stole my heart was Half Moon, A RockResort in Jamaica. It has a feel about it which is impossible to convey in photographs - a timeless, elegant quality, with a lot of colonial history and favoured by the rich and famous. The suites are surprisingly homely and I loved the fresh white architecture, whilst being a stone's throw from the beach. The best restaurant in Jamaica was the cherry on top.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
Bolivia blew my mind. Having just spent the night in a chilly salt hotel at an altitude of 3700 metres under thick Andean blankets, we were woken before dawn, filled with hot coffee and our 4x4 ventured out into a dark void. As the pinkish glow of the sunrise grew, the extent of the vast Salar De Uyuni became apparent - an enormous salt lake iced with silvery white plates of sodium like the back of a gigantic turtle. We drove further in and climbed an other-worldly rocky island in the centre, covered with cacti and watched as the shadows crept across the expanse. We then posed for some mind-bending photographs with the perspective making us appear like giants!
What are your suitcase essentials?
Less is definitely more - I always travel light! However, no matter how careful I am with applying sun lotion I always seem to have at least one sunburn incident per holiday, so I always pack a tube of Banana Boat soothing aloe vera gel. Bliss in a bottle!
Where's next on your wishlist?
My travel bucket list is based on amazing animals. I would love to sail the Galapagos Islands for giant tortoises and marine iguanas; cruise Antarctica for the Emperor Penguins and leopard seals, climb the mountains of Rwanda for the mountain gorillas and snorkel with orcas in Norway!
