Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
The best place I have ever stayed has got to be the Wynn Encore in Las Vegas. I have honestly never stayed in such a beautiful hotel. The rooms were just so beautiful with all amenities and there were so many facilities in the hotel. I think the biggest highlight of this hotel was the out of this world buffet. The Las Vegas buffets are a must and they are all amazing but the one in the Encore was something I hope I do but don’t think I will ever experience again, it was just unbelievable.
What's your oddest travel moment?
My oddest travel moment was when I was in Singapore airport where I had a seven hour layover on my way to Fiji. I was having a sleep on one of the loungers in the airport lounge and when I woke up there was a postcard and a swan shaped origami placed on my bag. On the postcard it read “Enjoy your travels”. It was very strange because I was travelling on my own and hadn’t met anyone in the airport so I had absolutely no idea who it had come from but it was still very sweet at the same time whoever it had come from.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I was sailing around the Whitsundays in Queensland, Australia on a three day catamaran tour and we were just mooring up for the night. The sky was lit in the most beautiful way with the sunset and the tour leader was giving us a little history of the waters we were mooring in and how the whales came to mate here. All of a sudden out of nowhere within a few metres of the boat, a humpback whale half the size of our boat breached out of the water. For me this was one of the most magical moments because I love whales and it was the first time I had ever seen one. To see it is such a special place like the Whitsundays was an absolute dream come true.
What are your suitcase essentials?
I would say my suitcase essentials are my kindle and my headphones. I love getting stuck into a really good book while lounging on the beach with a cocktail in hand but nothing beats listening to my music.
Where's next on your wishlist?
My travel wish-list is never ending but my next destination has definitely got to be Canada. I am in love with natural beauty and Canada has endless amounts of it. I have dreamt of seeing Lake Louise for myself since before I can remember as well as facing my fear of heights and taking the walk over the Capilano Suspension Bridge, something which I just imagine being frightening but so thrilling at the same time. I would then treat myself to their famous puotine and maple syrup pancakes!
