Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
One of my experiences that is my favourite was when I stayed at a hidden gem in Naivasha- Kenya at The Chui lodge which is nestled away in a wildlife sanctuary with stunning views of the Mau escarpment and Great rift valley. I had my own cottage, they only have 8 on site which had stunning décor, all the furniture has an African flare and was made on site with four poster beds and roaring log fires. Through the windows gazelles and water bucks that roamed free poked their heads in once in a while. This property had a water hole in walking distance where giraffes came to drink, you got so close it was as if you were one with nature. The exquisite bonfires at sunsets on the game drives with your favourite sun downer cocktails made each evening magical followed by a meal especially just made for you by their specialty chefs. This place was definitely somewhere special for me worth another visit soon…
What's your oddest travel moment?
This memory still has me in giggles. On our holiday to Dubai me and my husband decided to give the new metro system a go. Rushing for the train trying to make to the cabin in the nick of time, and so we did… hurdled up close to the standing rail as the doors shut right behind us. Suddenly, I could feel piercing stares from the people around, something was not right. Scanning the cabin, I quickly realised that this cabin only had women in it. Oh my! the sign on the cabin stated this was a female only cabin. Whispering that to my husband we got off at the next station, but the few minutes ride to the next station felt like forever, once off we did have a big huge laugh.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
It definitely without a doubt has to be sitting on the edge of pier as the waves of the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the rocks, the beautiful smell of the ocean and the view of the surreal sunset against the backdrop of the Senegalese coastline, absolute bliss!
What are your suitcase essentials?
It definitely has to be my phone charger, so I can stay connected and share my adventures and find my way around, my headphones for when I just want to relax, and lastly one pair of high heels just in case for on the spur fancy moments, always got to be prepared.
Where's next on your wishlist?
Australia, I would love to snorkel in the Great barrier reef, walk on Darling harbour in Sydney and experience the changing colours of the Uluru in Ayers rock, I want to take a bite out of the Big Apple- New York, and experience the mystery, spice and magic of Morocco, my list keeps growing I just cant stop… …
