Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
Without a doubt the best and most beautiful place I have ever stayed is in a bungalow on a private beach in the middle of Ha Long Bay. Living on a small beach surrounded by these gigantic rocks was breathtaking enough, however then waking up to the soothing hum of waves breaking and watching the sun burn off the early morning haze from around this stunning scenery was as close to paradise as I think I'll ever get.
What's your oddest travel moment?
Unfortunately my friends and I arrived on Koh Samui as the Thai islands were being hit by the end of a cyclone which had occurred over Japan. The rain was unlike anything we had ever seen; the island was already flooded and all of the taxis refused to take us to our hostel as the resort was already under water. The closest they could get us was to the airport and our hotel wasn't too far on the map so we thought we would be able to walk there. When we arrived at the airport we realised we weren't going to be able to get to our hostel while it was still raining so we ended up sleeping at the airport, in a room they had filled with sun bed cushions, alongside people from all over the world. It was actually very comfortable and we made some great friends.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
My perfect travel moment happened in December 2015 on a trip to New York with my mum. The weather had been overcast and threatening to snow for a few days so imagine our delight when we woke up on the morning of our helicopter ride to clear blue skies. Flying over New York City on a crisp winter morning and being able to see every skyscraper, statue, park and bridge so clearly was breathtaking and a moment neither of us will ever forget
What are your suitcase essentials?
I could never go away without a first aid kit as I'm renowned for getting blisters, mosquito bites and various other injuries on a daily basis. I also love to read while I'm on long journeys so I usually take one or two books along with me aswell as a notepad as I am constantly writing down recommendations from local people and other tourists tips for my trip so I don't miss out on anything.
Where's next on your wishlist?
My list of places to go is never ending but I have always dreamed about hiring a camper van and travelling Australia’s east coast and New Zealand’s North and South islands, visiting each city and town which has so many different things to offer from the next. Plus skydiving and bungee jumping are high on my bucket list and what better place to do that then at these destinations?
