Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
The first time I went to Las Vegas, I visited for 2 weeks, I spent the first few nights in the old town, followed by 10 nights on the main strip, in what many would consider to be the 2 most luxurious hotels available, these being The Wynn and The Bellagio. I find it very difficult to separate these hotels, both offer a design that is beautiful, a perfect location and an experience that really makes you feel like royalty.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
Climbing Yosemite was wonderful, I really hadn’t prepared for the day and had no idea what I was facing, I climbed with a few friends I had made on an escorted tour, I was at the bottom and looked up and thought “it really isn’t that high, this will be easy”, so carrying no water and wearing plimsoles off I went to complete what I now know is a 9 mile journey. I embraced the challenge however and survived by eating snow and drinking from the beautiful waterfalls, I also did not let the struggle stop me from heading to a cliff edge near the top and performing The Lion Kings’ “Circle of Life” for the appreciative crowd, during which a bird landing next to me and a group of squirrel climbed up my body…. Following that day with a Helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon, really made for a memorable part of the vacation.
What are your suitcase essentials?
Polo shirts and shorts, I am a worshiper of the sun, I love good weather and as far as I’m concerned, the hotter the better, I spent 2 weeks in Las Vegas in August, basking in almost 50degree heat, and could not get enough it.
Where's next on your wishlist?
There is so much I want to see on the other side of the world now, I have spent the majority of my travels to America and now it’s time to explore. I will be starting this with Mauritius later on in the year and am very much so looking forward to mixing relaxation with adventure but my real wish list destination has to be Sri Lanka and the variety that this country has to offer, from the beaches, the incredible wildlife, and ancient history this country has to offer. Also as a lover of tea, I hope to sample in a tea-picking experience.
