Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
Four Seasons Seychelles. I had a Hillside Pool Villa with my own pool. The sea and sunset views from the pool were so stunning it was hard to tear my eyes away. Lazy days were spent around the decking of my villa and taking time out on the beach smoothed all the stresses of everyday life away. Add exceptional service and this really was a hideaway from it all.

What's your oddest travel moment?
I was awoken very early in my lodge at Makanyane Safari Lodge in South Africa to a noise which I could not work out. It was very dark, with only moon light giving some sense of direction. I ventured out of bed and walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window and looked out to blackness, unable to make anything out. The noise continued, so to clear my curiosity I dared to switch on the decking light and found myself face-to-face with an elephant which was looking directly at me. A very odd but amazing moment . . . it's not every day you come face-to-face with an elephant on your decking!

Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I have had many travel moments that will never leave my memory. One that always stands out is being on a small cruise vessel sailing through Milford Sound, New Zealand. The fjord is mind blowing to witness and it is difficult to take your eyes off the sights. The fjord by day was dry, with the inlet full with seals and penguins. When we got to the mouth of the inlet we were greeted by Orcas and dolphins which really enhanced such a perfect moment. We stayed overnight on the vessel and woke up to a lot of rain which surprisingly is a blessing as the mountain and hill sides turn into stunning cascading waterfalls. A sight I will never forget!

What are your suitcase essentials?
I always pack more than I need. If 10 t-shirts will do, I will pack 15! I always worry I will run out of clean clothes so my essential pack is to take more clothes than I know I will need. All too often I have issues with baggage allowance!

Where's next on your wishlist?
I would love to see the ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru and explore the surrounding regions of Peru. I have always been interested in the Incas and their history and I wish to absorb stories and facts about this fascinating destination.
