Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It has to be Maafushivaru in the Maldives. I spent some time on the little island of Lonubo and it was the most amazing experience as we were the first people who didn't work for the hotel to stay on the island. We were left with a mobile phone and were told to call when we wanted to come back to the main island. The whole atmosphere at Maafushivaru was great - we were made to feel so comfortable and it was like paradise.
What's your oddest travel moment?
I was staying at Coconut Lagoon in Kumarakom Lake Resort in Kerala. We had been touring on a work trip and were all feeling very tired towards the end so a few of us decided to treat ourselves to a massage. This turned out not to be so relaxing as we were asked to completely remove our clothes. Let's say we all came out of the massage looking more red-faced than relaxed!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
Yes, when I was in South Africa on a Safari. We had had a long day going through Kruger National Park and it was getting late. The sun was starting to set and we had nearly seen the entire Big Five - it was just the lion left to see. We were on our way back to the main gate and before you knew it, we were stuck on the dirt track waiting for a pride of lions to cross, it was the most surreal moment so I just sat back and thought how lucky I was to get to experience this fantastic sight!
What are your suitcase essentials?
My phone charger as I don't like being cut off from the world - it makes me feel like I've lost an arm! I also couldn't cope without my hair straighteners.
Where's next on your wishlist?
South America is definitely next on my list - Costa Rica, Brazil, Peru - the list is never ending! Although I wouldn't mind another visit to Maafushivaru for a little R&R!
