Nicole Henshall
Kuoni at John Lewis Southampton

"Nicole Henson at Kuoni in Southampton was extremely helpful getting quotes for us and helping us to decide where to go as we were unsure and her knowledge helped us make that decision. Nicole also had a very friendly and enthusiastic demeanour and was more than happy to help, which left us very happy and pleased once we had booked our holiday, and it was a pleasure to have met her and book through her and Kuoni."

Nicole's love for travel has only just begun. She went to college and studied Travel & Tourism and wanted to work somewhere that specialised in unique travel experiences. Her love started when she went on holiday with one thing in mind - the beach. However, she ventured out of the town, hired a car and just took each day as it came.

Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It has to be Jetwing Sea in Sri Lanka- the hotel was fantastic and so vast with everything you can experience, and this hotel was amazing. We had dinner on the beach, where the atmosphere was brilliant. There was live music playing in the bar and it was just so chilled which really finished the holiday off perfectly!

What's your oddest travel moment?
The only thing I can think of that was quite odd, was when I was in Amsterdam on a short break and this man came up to me and asked me directions in what I think was Dutch. However, when I said I didn't understand as I couldn't speak Dutch, he screamed in my face and ran away very quickly!

Have you had a perfect travel moment?
Yes, when I was in Barcelona. We were having dinner in a small square by Las Ramblas. There was live music and entertainment all around the square with an amazing vibe. With a glass of sangria to hand after a beautiful meal, we sat back and just took it all in. It was everything I had imagined Barcelona to be, and much more.

What are your suitcase essentials?
I would say shoes and dresses, but I suppose these can't be classed as essentials. However, I would say that Jungle Spray insect repellent is my most essential item. I seem to always get bitten alive when I'm away, so I never travel anywhere abroad without it.

Where's next on your wishlist?
I have probably far too many destinations on my wish list, and especially working for Kuoni, the list just seems to never end. The destinations I'd love to visit are Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia in one trip. I'd love to do a bit of beach in Thailand or Vietnam, but then I'd want to explore more of the culture and visit wonderful places like Cambodia's Angkor Wat. However, one place that has been on my list for a very long time is China! There's so much to see and do there and I could spend lots of my time exploring.
