Where's the best place you've ever stayed?

I have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places during my time in travel, however the best place I have ever stayed is Niyama Private Island resort in the Maldives! Nick named ‘Natures Play Ground’ it really is the most beautiful island I have ever seen. The pure white sand and the crystal clear water is just the beginning of how amazing this resort really is. From swimming in my own private pool to having the most amazing food in the traditional African restaurant, finished with cocktails in the underwater restaurant, it was the most amazing place I have ever stayed and an experience I won’t forget!

What's your oddest travel moment?

When I was on a work trip visiting Sri Lanka, we visiting the hotel called the Avani Kulutara in Kandy. As it is a destination that do weddings, the hotel were keen to demonstrate to us what a traditional Sri Lankan wedding would be like if you booked though their hotel. My colleague was asked to act as the bride as the rest of us as her brides maids. As the ‘wedding’ began we were surrounded with dancers leading us all down the aisle to meet the ‘groom to be’ (who we had never met before!). My colleague had to stand and pretend to get married, feed each other cake and then was carried off in to the sunset with her new husband! Lots of customers staying at the hotel were standing around taking pictures, whilst we tried not to laugh as the awkward situation! Strangest wedding I have ever been to!

Have you had a perfect travel moment?

Mauritius is one of the most beautiful countries I have had the chance to visit. I took a day excursion over to a small, island called Ile Aux Cerfs. On the catamaran journey over to the island we stopped in the middle of the ocean and jumped out for a swim. I have never experienced a sight so amazing! In the middle of nowhere, no land to be seen in the distance, standing in the clearest, bluest water I have ever expected to see. This kind of image you only expect to see in a picture in a holiday broacher, that you imagine is properly Photo-shopped! But it’s really does exist! The most perfect place I have been lucky enough to experience and my travels around the world…so far!

What are your suitcase essentials?

Where ever I go, the first thing I put in my suitcase is mosquito spray! There is nothing worst then spending a few hours of your holiday in a Sri Lankan hospital due to being bitten more times than you can count! The second thing I cannot be without on holiday is my underwater camera, I have managed to capture some beautiful underwater pictures whilst snorkelling in the middle of the Sea in Mauritius.

Where's next on your wishlist?

As much as I love lying on a beach and taking time out to relax, the first place on my wish list has to an African Safari! As a massive animal lover, I would love nothing more than to see the big 5 in their natural habitat and experience a safari. I prefer to be active and take in new experiences whilst I am away, so twinning a Safari with a city stay in Cape Town for a few days would be perfect!

I have worked in the travel industry coming up to 7 years now, I previously worked for a different tour operator and began working for Kuoni in November 2015. I have just returned from an amazing 6 months working and living in the Maldives as a Kuoni Representatives so I would consider myself as a Maldives Specialist! I have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places over that last few years and plan to tick of many more in the upcoming future!
