Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It would definitely have to be the Sheraton, Times Square just for the location. The hotel is in the heart of Manhattan within short walking distance of Times Square, Broadway, Fifth Avenue and Central Park. You’re also spoiled for choice of places to eat with so many restaurants and delis in the surrounding area. It’s a perfect base for anyone wanting to visit the Big Apple.
What's your oddest travel moment?
I was once in Bangkok and was unaware that it was Songkran (Thai New Year) and while walking to the 7Eleven I got caught up in a street water fight and got totally soaked from head to toe! I ended up having so much fun, I’ve been back every year for Songkran ever since.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I’ve got to say that the time I did the sunset bridge climb up the Sydney Harbour Bridge has got to take the award. I was with a group of friends, it took about 30 minutes and it was a tough climb! But by the time we reached the peak it was unbelievable, we were 134 metres above sea level and we had a panoramic view of the entire Sydney skyline, including the Sydney Opera House. It’s truly something that I will never forget.
What are your suitcase essentials?
I couldn’t survive without my iPhone to capture all those unforgettable moments, help me navigate around the sights and to communicate with the locals using my translator. A good moisturiser with SPF is another suitcase essential especially if it’s a long flight and Anthisan (the best bite cream there is) because the mosquitos love me!
Where's next on your wishlist?
There are still so many destinations I haven’t yet travelled to and my wish list is forever growing. I have always wanted to visit the incredible Angkor Wat in Cambodia and if I win the lottery I’m going straight to Bora Bora in French Polynesia and staying in an overwater bungalow! I’m also planning to take a diving course and go to Cairns to scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef.
