Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It has to be the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa in the Maldives, it is simply heaven on earth! From the beach staff bringing cold towels, cooling spray and ice creams to the sumptuous seafood buffet which we ate at the water's edge. The service is incredible and in just a couple of days every member of staff we spoke to knew us by name.
What's your oddest travel moment?
Myself and a friend went backpacking around the Greek Islands one summer. We had spent a couple of days in a room owned by a lovely Greek lady. She was really friendly and couldn't do enough for us when we arrived. On the day we were due to leave, we were packing when she burst into our room and started yelling at us to get out. She started picking up all of our belongings and throwing them at us. We had to gather everything up, run out onto the street and then try and pack everything into our rucksacks! I've no idea what upset her so much!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
When I was backpacking around Australia, we spent a few nights cruising the Whitsunday Islands. As it wasn't the most upmarket of vessels and the cabins were not very glamorous, we decided to sleep up on deck. We were all lying down looking at the beautiful night sky, with someone playing the guitar, when we saw a whole glittering shower of shooting stars -absolutely beautiful.
What are your suitcase essentials?
Not very exciting, but I suffer with swollen legs on long haul flights, so always a good pair of flight socks. Also hair serum so that in humid countries I don't have to worry about using hair dryers or straighteners!
Where's next on your wishlist?
I've never been on a safari, so that is definitely number one. I'd also love to visit Argentina and Vietnam. Working for Kuoni and constantly hearing about people's experiences means that my wish list is constantly growing!
