Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It has to be Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives. It's the ultimate retreat accessed by a short domestic flight and speedboat. I had my own beach villa and personal butler and my own bike to cycle around the island. The food at Laamu is superb; they even have their own organic garden and a free ice-cream station (with over 40 flavours). Eating breakfast at the overwater restaurant watching dolphins swim past was amazing!
What's your oddest travel moment?
When travelling to Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman quite late at night we could only get to the resort by road and, owing to its unique location, this was by a dramatic 4x4 drive down from the top of the hill overlooking the bay. When we saw it the next day the views were breathtaking. Literally. During daylight hours and for the ultimate arrival experience, guests can travel as a companion passenger with the Six Senses' professional paraglider - usually in stunned silence!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
It was probably enjoying a five-course dinner with wines from around the world served in the Altitude Wine Cellar at Six Senses Laamu. Because they keep the bottles at the optimum temperature you get a fleece jacket to wear and a hot water bottle with a fluffy cover to rest your feet on. Each course was matched to the right wine and it was delicious!
What are your suitcase essentials?
Any mosquito repellent with 50% Deet to keep the bugs at bay and a pocket-sized hand sanitizer just in case, as well as a couple of tea lights for any power cuts or a romantic night on the balcony with a loved one.
Where's next on your wishlist?
I would love to visit Angkor Wat in Cambodia and more islands in the Maldives. They are all so varied and offer the ultimate in luxury accommodation and fine wine and dining options for a truly relaxing holiday. Working for Kuoni there is always somewhere new to go!
