Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It has to be Four Seasons in the Seychelles. I had an Oceanview Villa with its own infinity pool, big open windows in the bathroom overlooking the sea whilst remaining very private. I loved the serenity and natural beauty of the resort and the service was second to none. It was located on one of the best beaches in Mahe and I just didn't want to leave! Very few places have matched the Seychelles for its stunning scenery, amazing hotels and locations.

What's your oddest travel moment?
I arrived at a remote deserted railway station in Russia at 5am with my travelling companions to find no one to meet us as arranged and just one single car on the car park. I asked the driver where I could get a taxi and after he asked where we were going to we agreed a price of 7 roubles. He then drove for 2hours to our destination which worked out around ᆪ1 for the fare at the time. En route he asked for English cigarettes so we gave him a packet and a ᆪ1 coin which he thought was a gold sovereign and was very happy! But not as happy as we were at this was amazing value for the journey!

Have you had a perfect travel moment?
When I was in Hawaii, we found a guy who was doing glider rides and decided to give it a go. We were towed up by another plane and then the rope was untied as we then proceeded to glide along the coastline riding on the thermals in perfect silence, no engines and just the air flows keeping us up. It felt like we were in a lift rising on the thermals as we saw the most beautiful views of the coastline of Oahu. It was amazing!

What are your suitcase essentials?
Havaianas, suncream and mosquito repellent - they bother me always!

Where's next on your wishlist?
Peru to see Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, Buenos Aires and Iguazu Falls in Argentina, Chile for its fjords, wine country, beautiful cities like Valparaiso, and the Atacama Desert.
