Where's the best place you've ever stayed?

A tough one, but probably Raratonga in the Cook Islands. The island is paradise with lovely people, amazing food and great beaches for watching the sunrise or sunset. My beach house was just footsteps from the ocean, the perfect place to unwind.

What's your oddest travel moment?

During a flying lesson in New Zealand the pilot instructor told me we were going to deliberately stall the plane. I thought he was joking for a good while until I realised he was serious. Clearly he knew what he was doing as I’m here to tell the tale!

Have you had a perfect travel moment?

Gorilla trekking in Uganda. It was quite a tough hike as the troop kept moving further away from us, we went up and down and up again until I passed out from dehydration. A few hours later we found them. That moment when we came through the trees and there was the Gorilla family including a pair of 2 month old twins….best day of my life!

What are your suitcase essentials?

A camera bag with a loop to wear on your belt so you can keep your hands free until you need to grab it. I never went anywhere without it during my 2 months in Namibia and got some spectacular photos. The best tip I ever heard is that the best camera is the one you have on you at the time!

Where's next on your wishlist?

I recently helped my best friend book a trip through Canada and I’m very keen to copy it for myself soon! I’d love to go whale watching in Vancouver, take the train through the Rocky Mountains and try and spot some grizzly bears.
