Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
When visiting Las Vegas for the first time, I was fortunate enough to have stayed at the Bellagio. It's really difficult not to be blown away as you're dazzled by the iconic dancing fountains, with the grand facade of the hotel itself towering behind as you make your way to the forecourt. The attention to detail is exquisite with neoclassical Roman design influences throughout the interior. The Bellagio also boasts some of the finest dining available in the whole of Las Vegas (my favourite being The Picasso Restaurant), as well as one of the most spectacular Cirque Du Soleil shows I have ever seen ('O')!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
There's so many to chose from but my favourites are always those hidden gems that lie off the beaten track when wondering aimlessly without a route or fixed plan. I had one of these moments when visiting Florence recently. I crossed over the Ponte Vecchio into unchartered territory and stumbled across a building which from the outside looked like nothing more than a pile of bricks that could fall to the ground any second! I could hear the most beautiful singing so my curiosity got the better of me. When I stepped inside, it was the most palatial church I have ever seen with grand Rococo-style architecture and Renaissance frescoes. I also got to experience an authentic Italian mass in the heart of the Florence. A moment I'll never forget!
What are your suitcase essentials?
A great camera is always a must but I'm also known to never travel without a change of clothes in my hand luggage. Particularly after a long haul flight, it's always great to arrive at your destination feeling fresh!
Where's next on your wishlist?
I'm really keen to explore more of the Far-East. There's such a buzz around Japan at the moment and I'm fascinated by the idea of a country steeped in it's own unique traditions and culture.
