Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It’s all about feeling the destinations true culture for me, I like to have accommodation to match my surroundings & make me feel like a local. My favourite places I’ve has stayed so far is a basic wooden beachfront hut on the beautiful island of Koh Tao - Thailand , or a peaceful ranch deep in the countryside surrounded by wildlife in New Zealand.
What's your oddest travel moment?
Witnessing the northern lights in action. Whilst in Iceland, my brother & I, extremely jetlagged from arriving on a flight from Canada, headed out to the countryside. We stood in the dark, with just a glimmer of green in the sky for 3 hours..... In minus 10 degrees. Clutching a mug of hot chocolate, the sky finally moved & the lights worked their magic. It was a bizarre sight, showing mother nature at her very best, but certainly created a memory of a lifetime.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
This one's easy to answer! Whilst living in New Zealand, I visited Gisbourne, a city on the east coast of the north island. Whilst the city was more the size of a town, it does have a claim to fame of being the first city to see the sunrise. On one visit, I woke up early , drove to a secluded beach with friends & watched the sunrise. It was such a perfectly clear morning & the colours were spectacular. We were the only people there & was well worth waking up for.
What are your suitcase essentials?
Suitcase essential has to be suncream! I manage to get sunburnt in the Wales, & we all know how much it rains there! Regardless of the destination, beach breaks, city escapes, or hitting the ski slopes, suncream is always in the suitcase.....followed by my camera!
Where's next on your wishlist?
It's endless! The more people I speak to, the more places I reads about, the more I am eager to explore. I likes to get out of my comfort zone & try new things so top of the list has to be South America - the one of two continents I’ve yet to set foot on.
