Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
There are so many places to choose from but one of my favourites would have to be The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town. Its dramatic mountain back drop, amazing beaches and vibrant nightlife makes it unmistakably one of the most iconic cities in the world. Waking up each morning over -looking Table Mountain was truly special. A ferry over to Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the notorious prison that once held Nelson Mandela is an absolute must as well as the red bus tour around the city and stopping at Camps Bay for sun-downers is a wonderful way to end the day.
What's your oddest travel moment?
Toad racing in Port Douglas in Queensland, Australia has to be a contender! After choosing my toad I was told to get to know him before putting him onto the starting line! (How you get to know a toad is still a mystery to me!) I must say I was so proud as I cheered toady over the finish line finishing in first place!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
One of my amazing travel moments would have to be a day out snow-mobiling just outside Yoho National Park in British Columbia, which is along the western side of the Continental Divide of the Americas. This was a wonderful adrenaline pumping adventure through the fresh powder snow of the Rockies. We rode up into the alpine bowls for stunning mountain views stopping on the way for hot chocolate. The great weather, deep, untouched powder and incredible Rocky Mountain terrain created the perfect playground for a truly spectacular day out.
What are your suitcase essentials?
It would have to be my Iphone (sorry!) My phone is my life! I use it as my camera to capture the best of the destination I’m visiting, it holds all my music for every occasion whether it be chilling around the pool or dancing around my hotel room! It provides internet access so I can research the relevant information of the place I’m visiting and of course, to keep in touch with friends and family at home and keep them informed and envious of my travels!
Where's next on your wishlist?
Where do I start? There are so many places that I would love to explore but I think the next on my list is Ecuador followed by a tour of the Galapagos Islands. Being a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's foremost destinations for wildlife viewing is a dream come true for me. Its isolated terrain shelters a diversity of plants and animal species, many found nowhere else in the world and its fragile ecosystem has taken on almost mythological status as a showcase of biodiversity.
