Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
NIYAMA in the Maldives. This chilled-out tropical hideaway offers unrivalled luxury in contemporary surrounds - simply perfection! Our secluded Beach Studio enjoyed endless views of the Indian Ocean with prime snorkelling on our doorstep. Top-class dining is on offer at the signature overwater restaurant EDGE and enjoy a little post-dinner drink at the breath-taking Subsix underwater club. For me you cannot beat the laid-back, no news no shoes vibe of the Maldives!
What's your oddest travel moment?
Arriving early morning in Bangkok following a twelve hour flight from the UK, we decided to fight our jetlag and explore the local attractions visiting sights such as Wat Pho - the Temple of Reclining Buddha, The Grand Palace and The Golden Mount. Feeling rather confident and gaining some sense of direction we decided to embark on a local taxi drive back to our hotel. What should have been a simple 15 minute journey turned into an hours' chaotic sprawl through the city stopping at a local tailor, gold factory and travel agents despite numerous requests to return to the hotel.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
During a recent stay at Governors Camp in Kenya, I was presented with the opportunity to take a morning balloon flight over the Maasai Mara. With a little hesitation at first due to my fear of heights I of course accepted! The views were simply out of this world, watching the sunrise over the plains and the wide array of animals beneath us, and all topped off with a Champagne breakfast upon landing.
What are your suitcase essentials?
A couple of suitcase essentials for me: firstly, my iPhone to ensure I can regularly Tweet updates on my travels as well as the invaluable FaceTime calls home. Hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes for the obvious reasons as well as my travel pillow for a comfy flight and those long transfers!
Where's next on your wishlist?
As a Personal Travel Expert, your travel wish list is continually growing day by day but my current top destinations are Latin America - in particular Peru and Brazil, as well as the more remote parts and unspoilt areas of Southeast Asia such as Cambodia and Laos.
"Josh was amazing - really friendly, knew the answers to all of our questions and really felt like he wanted to help arrange our honeymoon. Nothing was too much to ask!"
