Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It has to be Four Seasons Resort at Landaa Giraavaru in the Maldives. I had stayed on another island in the Maldives which was absolutely stunning and didn't think it could get much better than that. But when I arrived at Landaa I was wowed; the sand was whiter, the sea was bluer, it was truly paradise. Being Four Seasons, of course the facilities, food, spa and service were all world-class. One of my favourite things about the island was that each villa was allocated bikes with your initials and villa number on so you could explore the island. If you left your bike somewhere they'd return it back to your villa for you.
What's your oddest travel moment?
I'm still thinking about this one!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
My perfect travel moment was in Brazil last year. We were only staying in Rio for one night and the following morning we'd got up early to go up the Corcovado and see Christ the Redeemer before our flight back to the UK. When we got to the top of the Corcovado the weather was awful; it was raining, really foggy and you could barely see the statue. After about 20 minutes of feeling really disappointed the rain stopped, the fog lifted and the sun came out. Christ the Redeemer emerged out of the fog and it was just spectacular, a real WOW moment that I'll never forget.
What are your suitcase essentials?
A good suncream ﾖ my personal favourite is Piz Buin. I don't travel without it! I will also make sure that I have at least two pairs of Havaianas with me; it's all about the comfort when I travel!
Where's next on your wishlist?
Borneo has been at the top of my wish list for a long time now. To see the orangutans in the natural habitat and to combine that with a bit of beach at the end!
"It was a really lovely experience, we were made to feel very special. Jo was great, nothing was too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend Kuoni to all my family and friends."
