Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
Koh Samui in Thailand was properly the most relaxing holiday I have ever had. The Outrigger hotel stole my heart as soon as I saw it in the brochure, a peaceful resort with its own private beach on the corner of a bay. The hotel has a feel about it which is impossible to convey in photographs - a timeless resort providing tranquility and relaxation, its paradise. Accommodation is your own private pool villa or suite with a homely and I loved feel to each one, you truly feel like royalty whilst staying here. The best part is only being a stone's throw from the beach and being able to wake up to the sound of crashing shores.
What's your oddest travel moment?
My oddest travel moment must have been in Mexico. Me and my family had gone out for dinner and stumbled across a traditional family run restaurant. I had ordered a shot of tequila to accompany my meal, I believe the shot was called a “Tequila Slammer”. I proceeded to take my shot to then shortly afterwards have a guy place a cloth over my mouth and nose and spin my head repeatedly, I was scared at first but then it was explained Its a drinking technique they do in Mexico. It was a bizarre but fun drinking experience which will remain with me always I think, it defiantly has provided lots of laughs to those of which I have shared the story with
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
My perfect travel moment would be in Chang Mai Thailand. I was able to spend a whole day with rescued elephants at the Elephant Nature Park. I was very cautious about where to visit elephants because I wanted to go somewhere with credibility. I had heard amazing things about the Elephant Nature Park and what they do and decided I had to go, not only did we spend a whole day getting to understand and learn about these beautiful creatures, we were able to also interact with them by feeding and bathing them. I would say that the experience I got from that day was life changing, I never would of dreamed of being able to interact with elephants like I did that day. Another bonus the park provided was they also rescued dogs so there was lots just wondering around wanting to be cuddled, which for me is a perfect travel moment in its self!
What are your suitcase essentials?
A Key travel essential for me when going abroad somewhere hot is defiantly sun-cream. As much as I like the sun and want nice brown skin, the sun always seems to disagree with me. Without sun-cream I am left looking various shades of pink and red. Another key travel essential for me is my iPad, it comes in so handy for when travelling and needing to be kept entertained. I use my iPad for everything nearly, from watching films, to listening to music, researching places to go or just to having it in the room or around the pool with me.
Where's next on your wishlist?
The list of places I want to visit keeps growing because there are so many incredible places in the world I want to see, I don’t think I can pick just one. I would say the ones at the very top of my list would have to be Bali for the culture and beautiful scenery, New York to be able to experience the hustle and bustle of the busy streets and Barbados for the tropical weather and beautiful beaches.
