Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
Absolutely has to be Nirwana Gardens on Bintan, Indonesia. A short hop over from the humidity of Singapore and I found myself in luxurious surroundings with beautiful beaches and exquisite food. We even had the sushi restaurant to ourselves one night, sat on the balcony, watching the sun set over the sea whilst the chef prepared everything fresh for us, perfection
What's your oddest travel moment?
Whilst relaxing in the infinity pool at Nirwana Gardens a lightning storm was looming over the horizon. We were a little worried but were told we could continue to enjoy our cocktails at the edge of the pool as the resort have a lightning guard on duty! We were swimming whilst warm rain showered us and the lightning struck out at sea.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I am lucky that I get to experience my perfect travel moment every year when I visit Portugal. I wake up early to watch the sunrise, then I make my way to beach. At this time of the morning it's just me, my husband and a few of the local residents. We just walk up and down the beach with the sea lapping at our feet. It's so peaceful and relaxing and a great start to each day.
What are your suitcase essentials?
It's cliche but it has to be my camera. I take pictures of everything and have digital frames all over the house so that I can relive my memories every day
Where's next on your wishlist?
Absolutely Japan. I have been fascinated with the culture for years, a country that is so modern and yet so traditional, I want to see the bright lights of Tokyo, the Cherry Blossom in Hokkaido and then be part of the Geisha world in Kyoto
