Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
Kalutara in Sri Lanka, being a bit more of an explorer we kept our hotel local and stayed at Tangerine Beach which was ideally located for us to go out and really see Sri Lanka and its local culture (and of course it’s cuisine!) The locals are so lovely there and I ended up making such good friends with the hotel manager we still keep in contact via WhatsApp to this day!
What's your oddest travel moment?
When I last visited Orlando, me and a family member went to a local bar and met some interesting characters and got talking to them. They asked us about how we were finding the parks and we mentioned about seeing the sea lions, next thing I knew one of them started barking like a sea lion at the top of their lungs in the middle of a now very packed bar! Safe to say we got some very strange looks.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I’ve had quite a few, however my favorite holiday moment so far has to be Barcelona. Me and a friend travelled there on a ‘spur of the moment’ trip and when visiting La Sagrada Familia we couldn’t have picked a more perfect day. Outside the weather was beautiful and sunny, but once inside the sunlight shone through the stain glass windows creating a perfect rainbow of colour within the cathedral whilst music was being played on the pipe organs
What are your suitcase essentials?
For me it would be a good pair of walking shoes! Whenever I visit somewhere new I like to fully explore, which for me means lots and lots of walking! Also my camera so I’m always ready to capture my travel memories for my scrap book when I’m back home.
Where's next on your wishlist?
I would definitely say Vietnam & Cambodia, in which case I’m definitely going to need a new pair of walking shoes!
