Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
This is a difficult one as there have been so many fantastic places I have been fortunate enough to stay in. The one that springs to mind is Bluewaters hotel, Antigua. The surroundings here are beautiful and it has two white sand beaches. I've visited Antigua several times and it's my favourite Caribbean island. There's just something about it, with it's gorgeous beaches, relaxing atmosphere and Shirley Heights for the best party! On one trip we travelled over to St Maarten to board the Star Clipper cruise, which was an incredible experience. Setting sail and visiting all the smaller Leeward Island like St Thomas, Anguilla, Dominica & Guadeloupe. Sleeping under the stars on deck one evening was a highlight!
What's your oddest travel moment?
During my second trip to Thailand we spent 2 nights in Bangkok staying at the Shangri-La, before heading down to Koh Samui & Krabi. As we had limited time we decided to take a Tuk Tuk tour around the city. It was a great way to see the main sites, visiting Bangkok's markets, temples and tasting lots of the local street food. On our way back to our hotel our driver decided to race our friends who were in another Tuk Tuk. It was a slightly scary experience and on several occasions I didn't think we were going to make it home. Unfortunately our driver didn't understand our pleas for him to slow down but it was definitely a journey I will never forget and we all made it back to our hotel in one piece!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I will never forget swimming with the turtles in Barbados, it was such a magical moment. The sea on the West Coast of Barbados is just like a bath and crystal clear. We took a boat a little out from the shore and got in the water with our snorkels on, I didn't know what to expect but as soon as we started swimming the turtles began to appear. We counted almost 20 swimming around us, they are such beautiful creatures and it was incredible to swim in their natural habitat with them. We did it a second time and it was most definitely a perfect moment, which I would go back to do again & again!
What are your suitcase essentials?
I love to read a good few books on holiday so I have to have the perfect collection to take with me, already downloaded on my ipad. I also have to have a selection of different bikini's... especially if I'm planning on doing nothing but relaxing on the beach or drinking a cocktail by pool bar! I like to try and leave a little bit of space so I can bring back some local souvenirs as well.
Where's next on your wishlist?
I would love to visit the Indian Ocean. I love to relax on holiday but I also love to explore so Sri Lanka is at the top of my list at the moment. I would love to visit the Yala National Park and see if I could spot a Leopard! If I was going all that way I would have to tag a stay in a Water Villa in the Maldives onto the end, just the experience of getting a seaplane to your own island would be amazing.
