Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
The most beautiful place I have stayed has to be Koh Rong Samloem, a small island off the Southern Coast of Cambodia. I shared a wooden bungalow overlooking the calm turquoise sea with my boyfriend. In the evenings we would sit on the deck of our bungalow hearing no other noise than the lapping of the sea. It truly was magical.
What's your oddest travel moment?
When I was in Kuala Lumpur in one of the many shopping centres, a few girls approached me. At first they were just being chatty and then they handed me some earphones and asked me to listen to something on their phone and then discuss it with them. They then got their whole class over to talk to me and take a photo before presenting me with a beautiful wrapped hamper of chocolate and sweets. I am still in contact with them occasionally!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I think my perfect travel moment would have to be the moment I realised I was swimming over a turtle in Gili Trawangan. I had gone snorkelling, not expecting to see anything much as we had been advised that the turtles didn’t seem to be around that day. I was struggling with my mask because it wouldn’t stop steaming up so I couldn’t see much! Then my boyfriend grabbed me and pointed below, to show a turtle eating away at the reef. I must have been there for about half an hour because I was so mesmerised by this beautiful creature!
What are your suitcase essentials?
I have to have coconut oil in my hand luggage having recently learnt that it is good for almost everything! It’s good to treat sunburn, to use as a moisturiser, to keep your hair healthy, it’s amazing. I also always have to have a bikini in my hand luggage just in case my suitcase goes missing on arrival.
Where's next on your wishlist?
I would absolutely love to do a road trip around South America, it would be an absolute dream come true!
