Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
I can’t narrow it down to just one! So I’ve chose two of my favourites. First being the Intercontinental in Malta! The most beautiful hotel with a booming atmosphere in the surrounding area, a roof top infinity pool to sip cocktails in the sun during the day and evenings spent in the Club Lounge where you look out from the terrace sipping an ice cold glass of champagne watching the Maltese sunset. The staff always make your stay so personal. Spending many childhood summers here this hotel has many memories, however it was made more special when my brother got married in Malta we stayed here. Its a happy place for me!Second has to be Four Seasons Resort Anahita in Mauritius, talk about luxury! We had the surprise of a complimentary upgrade to a 5 bedroom luxury villa offering our own infinity pool between four of us! White sand beaches set at the edge of a lagoon, a boat to a private island to residents where you will find Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club as well as a private beach and bar! Both of these hotels I will head back to in a heartbeat!
What's your oddest travel moment?
When I was younger my family and I went on a cruise. When we docked In Egypt my brother and I hopped off the ship to be greeted by local craftsmen handing us ‘gifts’! We were very excited and continued picking up these ‘gifts’, little to our knowledge that our dad was running behind us frantically paying for our misunderstanding! But what a lot of souvenirs we had!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I’ve been lucky enough to have many perfect travel moments. The one experience that stands out to me the most is when I was on safari in Pilanesburg National Park, it was the first game drive on the day we arrived. Bouncing our way around all the bends of the park about 20 minutes in to our drive all of a sudden a baby Elephant stepped out from the bushes and in front of the game car. Soon after, the Elephants mum stepped out behind it, all of a sudden a whole heard had followed this baby and proceeded to all cross infant of us and a couple walking down the track we were driving. Elephants have always been my favourite animal out of the ‘Big Five’, for me this was a really pinch me moment and will stick with me forever - as well as the many photos I couldn’t help but capture!
What are your suitcase essentials?
After years of flying I’ve got my packing to a fine art! The things that will never leave my person when travelling are my Revolut card which allows me to spend without incurring any extra charges when I’m away! A hat to protect my bright hair from sun damage and finally mosquito/bug repellent for some reason they love to bite me!
Where's next on your wishlist?
I would love to visit the Seychelles and Sri Lanka to complete visiting the Indian Ocean islands! They’ve been at the top of my wish list for a while and now with Kuoni, I’ve got the opportunity to fulfill those wishes and make new ones!
