Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
The moment I arrived at Versace on the Gold Coast I knew it was special. From the marble décor, giant crystal chandeliers to the inviting pool with luxurious cabanas calling out. Topped off with the best nights sleep on the world’s biggest beds and comfiest pillows, followed by a relaxing soak in the huge Jacuzzi bath. This was spectacularly ended with a mouth-watering breakfast from the choice of 10 buffet selections. This was without a doubt the most memorable experience.
What's your oddest travel moment?
My first experience of a propeller plane was watching the pilot pop open the nose of the plane and put my extremely large suitcase inside. We then sailed through the clouds over the Australian desert, watching him navigate the plane as I sat directly behind him, before switching to auto pilot and turning around to have a conversation with all 4 passengers.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
I camped at Uluru and as we drank champagne we watched the most spectacular pink and orange sunset behind Ayres Rock. Nestled in the desert we watched the Aboriginals perform a native dance as the camels trotted around. I then dined by candlelight followed by the Field of Light experience which was a spectacular light installation. We walked through the field of lighted crystal stems as we witnessed shooting stars over the crystal clear Milky Way, which as utterly magical.
What are your suitcase essentials?
My essentials have to be my eye mask, allowing me to sneak a snooze in whenever I can. A kindle for a good read and flip flops for comfort.
Where's next on your wishlist?
My wish list is so long it is hard to pick. I have narrowed it down to Peru, to trek the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Following that Nepal, Everest base camp and Antarctica are fighting for second place.
