Tell us what you want from your holiday

What would make a perfect holiday? Tell us who is going with you, what airport you'd like to fly from and any other details we may find useful, such as if it's a special occasion.

If we need to get in touch, when is the best time to give you a call about your holiday?

Where's the best place you've ever stayed?

In a small town in the depths of Guatemala I stayed in the most gorgeous wooden hut. It was on the edge of a large lake, raised above the water on stilts, and surrounded by forest. The tranquility of the setting, combined with an early morning kayak across the lake to find howler monkeys in their natural habitat, made the experience that bit more surreal.

What's your oddest travel moment?

After enduring the tropical rains of Bocas del Toro, Panama, a few friends and I successfully located a white sand beach complete with palm trees and a nice little bar. We ended up staying there the whole day, escaping from the typical tourist traps and the cruise ship crowds. However, suddenly the bar sprung to life. Local people flooded in, petals were strewn around our table and we ended up being part of not one but two intimate, surprise proposals in front of the couples’ families and friends. It turned into an evening full of celebrations!

Have you had a perfect travel moment?

I spent a few days on Caye Caulker, just off the coast of Belize, an island whose inconsistency of electrical power was to be expected in a place famous for the ‘go slow’ lifestyle. On the island I had the opportunity to board a five seater plane and fly across the Barrier Reef, famous ship wrecks and to see the Great Blue Hole. As stunning as it looks in photos, nothing quite competes with the reality. The scale and the richness of the ocean blues were beautiful. The day was topped off with a bike ride around the island, guided by some of the children from the island school.

What are your suitcase essentials?

I hate packing so it is normally always done at the last minute. However, I always make sure to pack a good camera to capture the magic of the holiday. I also always like to pack my trusty B1 vitamins and citronella oil to keep the mosquitoes at bay. I’ve always been prone to a few bites!

Where's next on your wishlist?

I’ve got my eye on a trip to Philippines and the beautiful mixture of the vibrant city of Manila and the picturesque islands of El Nido and Palawan. I’d also love to visit Sri Lanka. Elephants have long been one of my favourite animals and so having the opportunity to see the wild elephants of Sri Lanka will always be high on my travel wish list! The copious tea plantations are also an added incentive!

Emily’s passion and excitement for travel were first ignited following adventures to the souks and witnessing the vibrancy of Marrakech and whilst trekking through the Madagascan rainforest canopy with school friends. Since then she has enjoyed trips around the world to the temples of Angkor Wat, the depths of the Belize Barrier Reef and the sunset across the Atacama Desert.
