Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
Without a doubt it would have to be Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The country itself has to be my ultimate favourite destination. The food, the modern culture, the nightlife and the cleanliness ticks all the boxes for me! Swimming in the world’s largest roof top infinity pool, 57 levels above ground is just spectacular and even better at night with views of the city that are unforgettable. The atmosphere is unbeatable and I would visit year after year, especially to the F1 after party in the Ce La Vi Skybar!
What's your oddest travel moment?
In order to get that true Hong Kong experience, me and my friend Amy decided to eat like a local and visit the night food market on Kowloon. The place was packed with locals and the atmosphere was electric. We sat down on some plastic chairs at a metal table and attempted to navigate our way around the menu… with no luck we just pointed at a picture and hoped for the best. Out came our ‘food’ in the hands of a topless old man wearing what looked like pyjama shorts!. It was like a scene out of a comedy show and neither of us could keep a straight face. For me that must be one of the oddest moments I’ve had!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
Its needless to say that trying to pick a perfect travel moment is pretty difficult when you’ve had the privilege to visit some incredible destinations. However, a favourite of mine (potentially cliché) would be sailing around the Whitsunday’s on the boat, Siska of the Seas. Seeing those pictures on Instagram you’d been checking out come to life was just incredible. Whitehaven beach was quite literally a haven from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – you truly did feel a million miles away from home, but in the best way possible. The sand was nothing like I’ve felt before, so soft and fine, like walking on a bed of flour. And to top the trip off, seeing my first turtle swim past me on my final snorkelling stop was most definitely the cherry on top!
What are your suitcase essentials?
I have to admit, ‘packing light’ is definitely not in my vocabulary whatsoever! I normally have to have at least 3 different outfit options per day as well as every makeup brush, moisturiser and bikini I can find (obviously just to be safe…). Sun cream, obvious but extremely important as well as mosquito spray, cream, zapper and anything else I can get my hands on… I get bitten a lot and badly! Finally, my IPhone to capture memories and contact my family and friends.
Where's next on your wishlist?
Difficult to pick just one… Sri Lanka, Maldives and South America.
