Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
The best place I have stayed would be a beachfront hut on the island of Hoga, Indonesia. The island is very remote with only a handful of stilted huts between the surrounding forest and the ocean outside your front door. This isn’t a place for the faint-hearted because I had regular visits from the local wildlife including a Gecko, Monitor Lizard and a Huntsman Spider.
What's your oddest travel moment?
The oddest moment I have experienced whilst travelling has to be when I skydived over Cairns, Australia when within a few seconds of leaving the plane I felt one of my shoes fly straight off my foot and drop 14,000ft. into the fields below.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
There have been so many but I am always looking for more. One stand out moment was when I travelled through Central America and spent the night camping beneath the forest canopy. The following morning we woke at 4am to the sound of Howler Monkeys as we trekked through the forest to the ancient Mayan Ruins and climbed to the top of the main temple and watched the sunrise over the Mayan city, forest and hills off on the horizon.
What are your suitcase essentials?
Without a doubt my camera, I take it everywhere with me and want to take every opportunity to capture the places I have been to. I often find myself lost in new places after heading way off the beaten track in search for hidden treasures.
Where's next on your wishlist?
Iceland is top of my wish list because as a Geography graduate I have a strong passion for exploring the natural landscapes of everywhere I visit. There’s nowhere quite like Iceland to see vast glaciers and ice-blue lakes as a stark contrast against the fiery, volcanic background. Plus the photos would look fantastic.
