Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
That would easily have to be Ant’s Nest in Limpopo, South Africa, a renovated old ranch house built above a spectacular gorge within the heart of the African Bush. Each room specifically designed for guests to immerse themselves into the culture of South Africa as well as enjoy the magnificent views. Built with only 3 rooms we really did feel a sense of peacefulness and tranquility during our stay. Waking up every morning to beautiful sunrises that overlooked the Savannah and ending the day with a BBQ and campfire sampling the local cuisine all whilst taking in the surrounding natural wildlife and enjoying the company of our wonderful guides.
What's your oddest travel moment?
I’ve had many odd moments during my travels but the oddest would have to be during my stay in Chang Mai Thailand when we went on a 3 day jungle trek. The last night we spent staying with one of the local tribe villages. Everyone was extremely accommodating and they made us feel very at home. We were set up for the evening in a tree house roughly 3 metres above ground level and went to sleep fairly early that evening after a long day of hiking. In the early hours of the morning we were woken up by the sound of pigs on the farm rustling just underneath us and grunting, it then didn’t take long before all of the other animals woke up and we could not quite believe the noises we were hearing. The sound of cows, pigs, chickens, roosters and sheep all making such loud noise at the same time and being so close to them, you could not escape it. We all woke up so confused but found it so funny.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
My perfect travel moment would have to be flying over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter. This had always been at the top of my bucket list and it really did live up to all of my expectations! The incredible views went on for miles with it being such a clear and beautiful day. Once we landed we went to enjoy lunch, looking out at the spectacular views and then got the chance to explore and take more photo’s. It was such a highlight of my trip and the fact that it was also my birthday just made the whole experience even more special
What are your suitcase essentials?
That would most definitely have to be my camera as I absolutely love taking photo’s whenever I go on holiday to capture all of my favourite travel moments. I also never go away without mosquito spray and moisturizer
Where's next on your wishlist?
Without a doubt, Hawaii. I have dreamt of visiting there ever since I was little and would absolutely love to visit the Disney resort Aulani. It looks amazing! I’d also love to tick off more areas on the East Coast of Australia that I didn’t get chance to see during my last trip
