Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
It is quite close between Dubai and the Maldives, both very different countries but I have to say for pure ‘wow’ factor the Maldives would have to be the best place. The crystal clear oceans, tropical fish, amazing views and kind, friendly service are just some of the brilliant qualities that set this destination apart from the others. There really is only one word to describe the Maldives and that is ‘heaven’.
What's your oddest travel moment?
My oddest travel moment, this is quite tricky actually, I think it would be when I was on a two night stay in the jungle near Chiang Mai, Thailand. We had all finished dinner and as it was quite chilly we decided to all go to bed, our beds were in this homemade cabin, well I guess you would call it a shed! Anyway, we were all just about to settle down when suddenly the heavens opened and we soon realised that this shed was far from waterproof, to cut a long story short we all (about 10 of us) ended up huddled together like penguins under this tiny plastic sheet trying to stay dry. Was not the best night’s sleep I’ve ever had but definitely an adventure to put in the memory box!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
Yes, I think my perfect travel moment would have to be when I was backpacking around Sri Lanka and myself and two friends decided we fancied a challenge and decided to climb Adam’s Peak which is the fifth highest peak in Sri Lanka. You can climb Adam’s Peak whenever you like, however, the best time to start the climb is at 2am so you reach the top at around 5am just as the sun starts to rise. I can honestly say it is the most incredible view and we did this climb on my birthday so was definitely a birthday I will never forget.
What are your suitcase essentials?
For me I can never go anywhere without my camera. I absolutely love capturing every moment while I am away and the more pictures I get, the more memories I have to look back on. Another essential would be hard boiled sweets as when the plane lands or takes off my ears always pop and there is nothing worse than having your ears pop!
Where's next on your wishlist?
I would love to visit a few more islands in the Maldives and also go and explore America. I have only really done Disney World Florida and so would really like to go and see what else America has to offer.
