Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
For pure dramatic effect The Shangri-La in Sydney overlooking the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House is outstanding. I loved that the view changed every day as you threw back the curtains to see which cruise ships had come in overnight!
What's your oddest travel moment?
Whilst spending a long weekend in Banff and we woke one morning to heavy snowfall and a family of Moose had come down from the woodland and settled in the Car Park! It was fascinating to see the animals in close quarters but quiet surreal that they had ventured down to hustle and bustle of the town.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
There is something magical about departing New York on a cruise ship and toasting your journey to the beat of a live band whilst sailing past the Statue of Liberty. Coupled with being on the famous Cunard QE2 Ocean Liner as part of its final transatlantic season was truly inspirational to think of bygone days when the liner was in its heyday..
What are your suitcase essentials?
I have to carry my camera and a memory card with lots of space – I take photos to capture every moment so I can recall everything when I get back. The other thing I pack is an adventurous and curious mind to really get into the culture, try new things, and take myself out of comfort zone!
Where's next on your wishlist?
I think it’s fair to see that when you start travelling you always want more! South America is next on wishlist and I love the idea of doing an Argentinian Tango in a café bar in Buenos Aires, trying the wines of Chile, experiencing the nightlife of Copacabana Beach in Rio and visiting Peru for Cuzco and Machu Piccu.
