Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
The best place I have ever stayed would have to be Hayman Island in the Whitsundays, it really is paradise on earth. Right from my initial arrival which was by luxury yacht from nearby Hamilton Island (itself a wonderful destination) I was treated like a queen, champagne and fresh seafood canapés on arrival before being taken to my room by golf buggy. My room had direct pool access and amazing views out over the ocean. The whole atmosphere of the island gave off a feeling of comfortable luxury, a great combination after the hustle and bustle of Sydney where I had arrived from.
What's your oddest travel moment?
My oddest travel moment would have to be when I went to Florida as a child. We had been out shopping for the day and when we got back to the hotel we found all of the sunbeds in the pool and all of the windows taped up. When we got in to our room there was a note saying that there was a hurricane on its way. We didn't go to the parks the next day however I spent the day with some of the other children watching movies and my parents spent the day in the bar (a very unusual and not regular occurrence) with the other parents.
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
My perfect travel moment was travelling around the Barossa Valley in South Australia on a Harley Davidson, I was lucky enough to be taken around the beautiful vineyards of the area including Jacobs Creek, Wolf Blass and a beautiful independent vineyard Chateau Tanunda where I experienced private cellar door tours. To top this experience off we had lunch on the terrace and finished the afternoon with a very giggly game of croquet on the lawn.
What are your suitcase essentials?
I never leave home without my camera to capture all of the wonderful experiences I have throughout my travels, I am very old fashioned and always make an album for each destination. My other essentials are antibacterial hand wash, insect repellant as I seem to attract every insect possible and also my Evian water spray which keeps me cool.
Where's next on your wishlist?
Working in travel this list is endless, however if I had to narrow it down there would be two places, New Zealand would be first due to its great diversity, beautiful landscapes, adrenalin fueled adventures and amazing food. The other would be anywhere in Asia, I have only travelled to Singapore so there are many more wonderful places to explore, Vietnam and Bali are all on the wish list.
