Where's the best place you've ever stayed?
One of the most incredible places I’ve ever stayed is the Delta Whistler Village Suites in British Colombia. Whistler Village is the most picturesque ski village you can imagine, a vision of small boutique stores, cosy coffee shops where you can sit around a fire with blankets and a hot chocolate and multi-coloured fairy lights absolutely everywhere! After a long day of skiing the Blackcomb peaks, having a valet take us back to our own cabin-lodge inspired suite and being greeted with complimentary chocolates and warm kettle-corn was the cherry on top of a dream holiday.
What's your oddest travel moment?
My oddest travel moment would have to be when I did the base hike around Uluru. As the rock itself is quite a spiritual place for the Aboriginal community that occupy the land there are quite a few places along the walk where it is forbidden to speak, out of respect for the practices of the natives. The pure contrast of being around so many curious tourists, wild and lively one minute, then instantly everyone falls silent and you are transported to a moment that feels as if it could have taken place hundreds of years ago- it was quite an eerie experience!
Have you had a perfect travel moment?
My perfect travel moment was quite a recent one, in January I had the luxury of trekking into the Sahara Desert of Morocco. We had a group of local Berber guides lead our caravan to the peak of an enormous sand dune to watch the breath-taking red sunset before trekking down to our camp, setting up a fire and enjoying tajines for dinner and drum lessons with the locals.
What are your suitcase essentials?
A quality camera, sunglasses, good headphones, a deck of cards for a bit of fun and my hair straightener.
